I've been following those guys for the last few years now and they're always entertaining. One day I'd love to go to that festival!

ON a critical note, though, I wish their bass drum line played a bit more. Some of our DCI junior corps bass drum lines absolutely kill.

You would love it, Bo!

And as far as their bass drum line playing more, I bet you will see that in the future. The Blue Devils were at Basel this year and here they are playing together. (It's a little blurry):

Yeah, in fact, many of my other buddies who've marched DCI hipped all of us to Top Secret, and one of my old instructors does a pilgrimage every so many years out to the tattoo. Rumor has it some DCI folks may have had in a hand in their inception, but I can't confirm that.

Here's my favorite video of the Garfield Cadets 2012 bass drum line - they are a show all by themselves:

I'm biased towards bass drum lines, as I marched in the six-man lineup with the Anaheim Kingsmen in 1982. Bass drums rule!

I'm sure they had many hands in their inception. Eric Julliard, the musical director of the Tattoo was a founding member of Top Secret. And some friends in the Middlesex County Volunteers (an 18th/19th century fife & drum group) played and wrote some of the music for them early on. But they definitely had a DCI connection as well.

Awesome bass drum line in that Cadets video. And I like the credits. STARRING:

Bass 1: Himself
Bass 2: Himself
Bass 3: Himself
Bass 4: Himself
Bass 5: Himself
