Default What $60 buys you...

Yeah so we (my dad and i) checked this kit out at a friends friends house pretty modest but looks worse than it sounds. Bought the entire kit for $60. It was quite nice he dumped all his extra junk on us so i had a bunch of equipment that i am now using and and didn't have to buy. Cymbal stands etc...The only new things are the Ludwig snare that i had before the set, and the hihat and ride cymbal Sabian B8's. P.S. I've added a wicked crummy cracked in 5 places splash that sounds like junk. Without further ado the set.

14" X 5.5" Ludwig snare
12" X 10.5" Tom-tom
13" X 12" Medium-tom
15" X 16" Large Tom
22" X 15" Bass Drum
10" Atlas Splash cymbal
20" Sabian B8 Ride cymbal
14" Sabian B8 hi-hats
18" Zildjian Scimitar Crash Ride (used primarily for crashes)

I'm sure the seller feels he made out. He got rid of the stuff and you paid him $60 to take it away for him.

Dude you got an awsome deal. I wouldve definitley taken that deal too. You should sell it though (considering it probably isnt that great) and you could probably get like 300$ atleast for the whole thing.

Hey we all have to start somewhere, Thats a hell of a deal for $60, new heads clean it up and you can play that for a year or 2 I'd bet. Although I don't know about getting $300 for it? good luck with that. Straighten out those toms though uggghhh those angles are tough to play consistantly.

Love the tom angles in that pic! Are they even playable in that config?

Nice deal though.

i got my firs kit for the equivalent of about $40, a beaten up60's relic and just spent about $200 over the following six months adding and replacing bits so its now very decent, starting with the raw basics.

it is impossible, as far as i can see, to get a decent kit that's all together for cheap.

those tom angles were playable in fact i played them like that for just about 3.5 years, its definitely easier if the angles aren't so steep

Clean'um up a bit, throw new heads on 'um. yer' all set! From my past experience, from when i was a kid with no money,I found good hydrualic heads on a kit like that does nicely.

cool deal. all the stuff for 60 bucks! Is that your first kit or do you already have a "main kit"?

For that kit, I`d change the tom and snare heads soon! and I think with new heads, maybe new cymbals it will look and sound cool!!

good luck...

Karl

Man, you gotta sweet deal. Better than the shaft I got on my first kit. It was a Pearl....hell if I know, or if anyone else did as well. I got some beat up, old and busted hi hats that sounded like two pie tins. The ride was ok, was a Piaste 302 (crash was the same). The drums at one point in life were white, but had molted into a brown color. And all of this was mine for the right price of $350. The kids dad asked when we were leaving if I just bought it, and for how much. When I told him $350 his reply was "for that." I got $50 back that day. Anyways, sweet deal on the kit.

i dont know if i got the point across too well but the ride and hihats are new Sabian B8's which I love. This is my first kit and yes it needs new heads very badly. If you are looking to donate just say so...just kidding...im not looking for money

That snare is probably worth 100-200 on EBay, depending on the condition and all that.

That's a Supraphonic, my friends. Depending on when it was made, he could get a deal.

I have an 80's Supraphonic that I reconditioned from my school, and they let me keep it. Yay!
