and...

..the Sabian Jojo Mayer Signature Fierce ride 21''! yay

it's one awsome ride cymbal, it really blew my mind!!
It has a really musical, jazzy sound with trashy overtones, it's really crashable (sounds like a gong when crashed), thin with a great stick response, semi dry tone yet very clear tone, cuts trough everything if necessary!

SUPERB!!

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of him, I'm heavyly influenced by Jojo and I'm a fan of live d'n'b!

My set up looks pretty similar to Jojo's but in this new style it's hard not to drain ideas from the pioner - Jojo Mayer, he has a great blanced set up

Jojo Mayer dramatically changed me as a drummer, opened my mind to whole new possibilities and also boosted up my technique to a level I never dreamed I will reach

it's funny, some time ago I really didn't like electronic music but here I am now, playing live d'n'b!

I hope to finish my live d'n'b project till next year, january probably, I'll put up a web page with recordings etc!

...yeah... I'm addicted!! :-)

This drumset surprised me with the quailty, there are just a few minor things I don't like - no memory locks on flor tom legs, no rubber inserts in bass drum clavs, boom stand cymbal arms aren't dissapearing (not that I really would need that option, but hey, that's the 2nd best Sonor hardware serie, what the heck?!)

other than that it's just AWSOME!

WOW, Unbelievable. That red looks a lot better on your pics than the ad pic..bet it even looks better in person. How do you like that chrome snare? did it come with the set? What do you mean by arms not disappearing??

haha, and you just wait when I get some QUALITY photos...!! The finish does look astounding in person and it goes nicely together with my Peral exotic!

That steel snare drum (came with the drumset) is Sonor FS 3145 S, steel shell, chrome plated, with 2,3 mm power hoops, really great!
Tho, I haven't yet found the sound I want - deep, nasty rock sound with just few overtones that is contrasting my main high piched piccolo as much as possible!
I already switched the Remo UT batter head with an Emperor, switched the snare wires, now I just need a new bottom head and spend some time tuning it

btw, interesting - it says ''full maple'' on the badge lol

The thing about non-dissapearing cymbal boom arms is that normally all the boom cymbal stands have the option to convert it to sort of stright cymbal stand - hidding the bottom part of the arm in the stand, this option is only found on Sonor 600 series hardware! Not that I really need that, but it's nice to have that possibility!

Sonor and Pearl allways have been my two top favourite brands, they both make excelent drums/hardware! So I consider myself very lucky owning something from both! :)

Yeah, years ago I came to the conclusion that Pearl or yamaha hardware was the only thing I'd ever own again.

Last Pearl I tried was a 14x5" reference snare in Purple craze. It was an awesome snare drum! The reference series kits are my favorites in the pearl line up. I almost ended up with a kit--if it wasn't to take 9 months to get one.

EDIT: Pearl's purple craze was the inspiration for my forthcoming Tempus kit color. Tempus can produce a custom kit in 6-8 weeks on average, vs 6-9 months.
