Default my kit is now complete.

after a year and a half of searching high, low, and in between, i finally found a 2nd floor tom and she's complete!

24, 14, 16, 18, 6.5 supra.

15 black label paiste se hats, 18 & 19 old "a" crashes, 22 "a" ride.

http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k215/rogers_68/

it's my favorite kit i've ever owned.

i should add that they have coated ambassadors on everything but the snare side of the snare.

There is a kit that finish on consignment at Hoffmans music connection in Spokane. I like that butcher block look and the classic Rogers tone.

Beautiful kit. I love the hardwood looking finish. Those are the type of kits I like, nice and simple.
That must be fun to play.

i played that kit today at my church, the tom mounting system is retarted, or at least the one is at my church, i could not mount 2 rack toms close together without the weird tom angles, and they are fusion sized.
Looks great tho, how are those cymbals sound wise?

Scritp logo Rogers in butcher block. Yeah, I bet hunting down that 2nd floor took a while, but no doubt worth the wait. Beautiful kit. I've got the same series hats. Wouldn't trade 'em for anything. What a score when I found 'em used 13 years ago at Jammin' Jersey.

i love 'em. wouldn't trade them for anything else. about 2 years ago i walked in to a pawn shop and found those hats together with 16" and 18" crashes and a 20" ride (all 2002 black label). i got them all for $450. sold the crashes and ride for a total of $300, and sold my new beats for $125. so i basically got the hats for free. i love 'em.

big and full when you lay into them, but thin enough to be played softly too. i hate shrill, high-pitched cymbals. these are about the most mellow ones i could find, short of going to "jazzier" cymbals like k's or something along those lines. the hats can be played tight and quick or big and washy. while collecting them all i've tried to find ones that are as versatile as possible. i'm a minimalist when it comes to how many pieces of gear i own so i want to be able to do as much as possible with my cymbals and drums.

Now that's a kit! Wow, you so many new beautiful kits on this site, and then you run across a vintage Rogers, Ludwig, Slingerland or Gretsch and you realize, that's were it's at, they don't make them like that anymore. Now if I can only find a 14x14 floor tom for my Ludwig kit.

Ok, so I thought my kit was complete until I bought a 26" Rogers Swivo bass drum last week. I didn't even know Rogers made 26s. It's white and it needs a couple holes filled. I've been contacting every building supply store known to man to find a comparable butcher block wrap. If I can't I'll probably just redo with a different Rogers finish and let it not match. Either, I'm really excited about it.

One thing I learned. Our kits are never complete. Every time I add something to it I think I have it all. A month passes and here we go again Ebay...

That looks amazing, how did you find the final tom... ebay? Im always interested at how people hunt down certain drums in certain finishes when they aren't sold anymore.

I searched for a year to find the 18" floor tom. I posted several adds on different websites and finally one day this guy from Arizona emailed saying he had one.

Hey, that looks cool!
How do you find the sound of your vintage kit?? Also, I don`t know very much about Rogers, seems that they make great drums?

Have fun with it...very cool set-up you`ve built up there.

Karl

Congats on the find. Sweet kit. There's always a sense of elation/satisfaction when a "missing " piece is finally brought home!

It's the first vintage kit I've owned and I love it. Rogers drums from the 60s and early 70s are awesome, in my opinion.

I just decided I'm going to re-wrap the entire kit in blue onyx. Should be awesome.
