Back to topic... There are so many people that I don't know who are for sure amazing drummers and posters! And sometimes it's just the opposite :( . So let's not mix frequent-poster and good-advisor.
I had the most interesting feedbacks with finn, stu, nutha and... of course... duke86.
I love to find in the same thread: MFB (even though you don't deserve being in my list just for being English LOL)

I like T.Underhill and DogBreath for their overall bluntness and sarcastic sense of humor.

...and of course Bernhard for making the best drumming site on the interweb.

My favorite forum member hands down is Stu, when it comes to drums the man has some great posts, next would be NJ, again just outstanding informative posts. DW is a great place to be when these folks are posting.

*sigh*

And to think I actually used to be known for my helpful posts, back before I started a business that keeps me busy 24/7. Now I only have time to Moderate, and not enough time to engage in long conversations or do research to give a meaningful answer to someone's question. Oh well. When I do my next report from NAMM hopefully I'll redeem myself for a week or two.

Don't worry DB, you'll get a new chance... I still have some faith in you... LOL
But it's true!! You are more often moderating than posting drum stuff! I really wonder what you have to tell...
OK! One vote for DB!!! Added to the ones above, of course.

I dont have any favourite on this forum, but there are people i KNOW are good and skilled and they are helping me (and other drummers) to develop both as musicians and drummers, tech and groove and so on. They are like the foundation for our "drumming house" and i have much respect for them...
To name a few there is off course Bernard, Doggy, Nutha and Stu.. And people like Fin, MedioFB, Rudimental Drummer, Aahzwhaterhesnameis, Britt, Topcat, Drummer Karl off course, T.Underhill, Stormi, Glynes, Titansound, drum progressive and fourstringsdrums.. Cant remember more names now..

Your reports are great (yes, I was around to read about Neil Peart, Tim Waterson, and others). I just wanted to point out something other than helpfulness...humor. Without good humor the forum's overall atmosphere would be dead.

First is Bernhard cause its his site and he opened my eyes to some drummers I had never heard of before with those cool clips....

Second would be Stu cause he made me feel welcome to the site by answering my ??s and PMs by givin me some real good advice....

Third are the players that I like cause they've humbled me and made me realize that I still have alot of work to do....guys that I've heard play that I like are Britt, Jazzsnob, Duke and Yamaha drummer....

There some others that I like too just can't name them all....

Okay, based on actual personal experience, I'd have to say Titansound, met him on sunday and he's a great guy (plays pearl aswell, top bloke for that)

everybody else has named names so now I feel a little left out haha

others would include

Bernhard
Nutha & Barry (and not just because they both have a BLX)
Stu
MFB
Jollymosherdude (rad hair dude)
Karl
Stormi
Neurotica (puuurrrr)
finnhiggins

there's lots of people here who's posts I enjoy reading and have gained a lot of knowledge from, those are just off the top of my head and in no particular order (get out clause)

Even classA, I have gained a lot from some of his threads, not necessarily his posts, but he seems to get the best advice going which is always a great read

massonni is pretty awesome, he's a full on working pro and answers some dumb questions in a smart way.

Karl makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and reminds me of my younger years(I'm an ancient 18 years old).

Jeff Almeyda is serious as hell and I always appreciate Joe Morello stories (not too mention 2nd generation technique concepts)

I have to say:
Drummer Karl for his ambassadorship. His posts are positive and encouraging and always supportive.
He can never hide his love of drums. If groove is the ultimate feel good of drumming then Karl is 'the groove'.
Next would be Finn, Jazzgregg and Stu for their (sometimes brutal) honesty and overall command of the intellect of drumming and the drumming world. Though their responses, at times, appear arrogant and elitist, I have come to believe they are all just passionate about drums, drumming, the art of drumming, the science of drumming and the culture of drumming. Few can stand up to these 3 in any argument or debate. Agree or disagree with their posts and their delivery, I still cannot wait to see what they will post next.
Mattsmith for showing us all that setting goals, being persistent, not being intimidated and wood shedding can get you anything you want in life no matter what age you are.
There are more but.....
Steve

Honestly, and I've said this on many other forums... I really don't like these threads. But the reason I'm replying is so it's understood that I like a lot of people here. I don't think it's healthy to broadcast who you like, because when you leave people out, you essentially also list the ones you don't.

Sure, there's people who top your list... but those people generally already know it and you probably carry on convos and a friendship elsewhere either virtually or otherwise.

In the year or so i've been reading the posts on here lots of guys have spoken lots of sense and they are too many to list.

but.....
Bernhard ; obvious reasons, thank you

MFB ; for the reasons above but especially for not allowing some arrogant and unfair posts to slide and making the point many of us probably should have

Karl ; legend, manages to tell you he doesn't like the finish on your kit without being offensive! and far too good for a 14 year old

and the moderators for a job well done.

My favorite members are the "YOUNG GUNS". These are the young guys that make intelligent posts about music, drumming and life in general and don't use their youthful age as an excuse to act stupid:

Britt
Karl
MattSmith
MFB
(some others I'm forgetting?)

My second group of faves are the great players that I learn a lot from and who freely share technique and tips:

JazzGregg
Yamahadrummer
Jazzsnob
TheDuke
DerrickPope (but I forget his user ID, DJP?)
(some others I'm forgetting)

The final group I like is the "Old Guard". These are the old guys that have been out of drumming and have come back in after a long layoff, and really let us know how it is now compared to how it used to be (the good and the bad!) There are too many to name in this category, but they are all great because of the awesome level of diversity they bring.

And as much as I appear to come across as having disdain for these guys, I truly enjoy the youthful reckless types that come in here and bring the "crazy drummer" persona to the board. Although I never was nor will ever be like them, I appreciate their enthusiasm and over-the-top contributions to the board.

Of all these, my two favorite would have to JazzGregg. JazzGregg holds nothing back, and is a wealth of knowledge...so what if he hurts some feelings along the way? MattSmith is my runner-up, in that he is quite possibly the most intelligent writer on this board (and only a teenager still) AND he can back it up with his playing.

Cheers to everyone!

I'm new here but so far

stu. [he hates anything bogus] we agree mostly

matt smith [he looks at both sides of a dissagreement and calls attention to the positive sides of both sides] I question a speed drummer who never watches buddy videos but anyway...

nutha [he just has that radar thing going on]

ray bloom [because he disects every stinkin' word i say and makes me think lol]

jazz snob [we largely agree and I like his reviews of the drummers who post on "my space"

but I dig the positive vibe I get here and all contribute to that so CHEERS to all!!!
