ive been running the MX's (maple) for a while and had the pacific birch kit before that. im very impressed with pacific. they seem to make improvements every year while keeping the price affordable. great kits! i find the birch kits can be a bit touchy to keep in tune but run coated heads and you will be fine. my current set has seen about a years worth of solid work and ive had zero issues with the kit. congrats on the kit and enjoy!

my PDPs are the FXR series in Tobacco Fade.....

They are very tunable, especially with the right heads (I have EC2 coated) currently w/ the stock ambassador heads for resos,....nice! I get the best tone so far out of this combination. I like the coateds better than the clears actually.

I think they sound good tuned a bit higher OR lower,...both have sounded good for me so far, especially with this head combination. I have all pieces available in this series (when it was offered, this is the birch 4 piece rock kit w/ all the add-ons... 10-12-14-16).

I have it set up differently now.....I have the 14 on the floor next to the 16....I like it much better....I'll post pics when I get some .....tomorrow! :)

Cool kit.
Always when I see a PDP thread I spend even more attention...I find PDP pretty interessting. I don`t know exactly why...maybe because I didn`t try them often yet?

However, cool kit!

That's what I use on my birch kit, couldn't sound better! Go G1s clear on the bottom too.
