its not a wallpaper its hand painted mural of the titanic theme. was a valentines gift from my dad to my mom. that room used to have an entertainment system in it but we made it the "drum" room.

Candy black burst over waterfall bubinga, I'll remember that.

Dude, all I can say is wow, that is the most beautiful finish I think I've ever seen on a kit, how much did that baby set you back. I'm seriously considering a dw for my next kit so as much info as possible would be helpful. 10 months wait must have been a bitch, perhaps i shoudl order soon haha.

Excellent , excellent looking kit, but one silly question. For all of that money why do they feel the need to put a reso head on there with the lugs numbered. One would figure that if you have advanced that far that you could figure out the lug tightening pattern!!!

Its always easier having the numbers there to guide you, no harm in it really

INSPIRED!!! I just ordered my DW kit in that exact finish. Bubinga Waterfall with Candy Black Burst Laquer. 8x8, 8x10, 8 x 12, 12 x14 , 14x16, 18 x 22. I negotiated to $4700 so anyone out there with high hopes of getting guitar center to come 50% off of list on an exotic kit, IT IS possible. It took me 2 weeks of haggling and negotiating and saying this is the set I really want but there are others I could get on ebay, yada yada yada.....but after two weeks, finally he came back to me and said what price will make this happen. So knowing the math of 50% being around 4700, I said 4700...He called DW and called me back a few hours later saying he would do it. AND Im still getting the free heads and sticks that is easy to get from guitar center whenever you purchase anything decent. Anyway I will post pictures when it comes in. Im sure its going to be a while but he said 6-8 weeks lead time. Hopefully its not 10 months.

Also, I made this a hybrid kit like John Good recommends with an X shell on the 8 inch, VLT shells on the 10 and 12, and X shells on the 14,16, and kick. I have a 5 piece collectors series finishply from 2004 so it will be interesting to listen side by side and see the REAL difference. Cant wait. Til then I'll keep playing my Spaun's which are also good but little bit too ringy.

Wow, awesome, awesome set. They look beautiful! I've never played a DW set but I've heard them live, I like the way they sound. I would have to admit that I'm jealous like the other guys. Rock it! But not to hard ;)
