BUTCHER HOOPS
These hoops are designed by none other than The Butcher of The Academy Is... The hoops feature a 3" awning that covers the lugs, giving the drum the appearance of having no hardware. These hoops are similar to the beefy Yamaha style wood hoops, which greatly improve resonance and tone of any drum. The addition of the awning acts as a "chamber," giving the drum more resonance than ever. Finish the drum off with a vintage looking wood engraved badge, and you got yourself a brand new vintage drum in the specifications of your choice. The cost to upgrade to Butcher Hoops is $195 per tom, $295 per bass drum. They'll prob sell you just the hoops, did you ask them? Cool, you could retro fit your 5 piece Tama 'Rockstars' for $1000... Oh, the snare too?$1,200 before shipping. |

Hey guys just a follow up to my question about those butcher hoop's that sjc drums uses. I did contact them directly to inquire about me buying just the hoop's from them and they got back to me and said that it was not an option! Butcher hoops are only available if you purchase their kits, they do not sell them as parts.

Hi!
I am just curious, how does one attach a bass drum pedal to a Butcher hoop?

Here are some pics of their kits with the butcher hoops.
If you look closely at the kit with the light on inside it (near where the hoop is obscured by the BD spur) it seems as though the hoop might be cut away somehow for the pedal to attach to it. (By the way, Simbe, I've asked you some questions over on your kit's thread) Last edited by katman; 04-19-2007 at 01:26 PM. |

WOW! Those are beautiful drums! Sorry I can't help with the bass pedal question, but man, those drums look amazing! Definitely not the customary Tamaha/Gretschpex/LuDWig we see here. Those drums have serious attitude!
