Default This is where the magic happens!

Sorry about the pic quality, but I had to downsize the images to meet the requirements of this site and they lost alot of clarity.
This is my brand new Pearl ELX kit in black burst finish. It has matching snare and sweet black hardware. It's mounted on a Gibraltar curved rack. I have several electronic pads (only 3 pictured) that are driven by the Roland TD6 which I use for effects, congas, shakers, tamborine, claves, or whatever - the possibilities are endless with that thing! I'm using a DW5000 Twin Turbo pedal on the bass drum (which is almost totally wide open - very little muffling at all - sounds like a friggin cannon).
I have Zildjian cymbals and plan to upgrade to the Titanium series which will really complement the look of this kit.
I use CAD drum mics (which I love) and a Behringer Eurorack UB1222FX Pro mixer which I also love, but it's too small and I'm already out of channels and I need more.
I'm using big fat juicy Evans Hydraulic heads which are great in my mic'ed setup and really help keep me from overpowering the rest of the band - and they sound incredible.
Lastly, my biggo honkin' cowbell. I love my LP Rock Ridge Rider. You'll never hear me saying, "I need more cowbell"! I've got all I could ever need!
Let me know what you think of the setup.

The ride is an old Avedis Zildjian. It's not pretty, but it's a great ride. And the 18" cymbal on the right is a crash/ride that has a great sounding bell as well.

agreed. I had a ZXT titanium hammered cymbal "rock crash" and i hated it A's or A customs or Ks or K customs are much better.

Look means nothing IMO.

AWESOME finish on those Pearls. ....I saw a set of ELX's in my local music store, but wasn't sure what the finish was called - "black burst" is very fitting! Is that a Gibraltar 350C rack? I have one, but I never envisioned it set up with the extreme angle you have on the main support legs. I have the curved bar facing outwards, and the main supports spaced flat and even. Interesting way you have done it-very cool!

It depends on what series. You can custom order them from Zildjian. Tommy Lee is using them.

It's still bugging me, the fact that you've got your rack curving down instead of around LOL I know it's whatever works best for the guy in the drivers seat, but I still can't get it straight in my head, no matter how many times I look at it, it looks unstable haha, still a great looking kit either way tho haha just me thinking about things too much again AAAARRRGH!! haha

Sure not - quality will get better with resizing.

Or do you use a crappy windows program???

Can anyone give me advise on downsizing pics (or compressing the file) so they meet the requirements of the forum?
And great kit by the way.....I really like the finish!!!

Actually not. It's rock solid! Now, I do have a cymbal stand anchored to the side-arm to help stabalize on the side of the floor tom and ride cymbal (due to the weight of the gear on that side). If you've got the curved rack just give it a try, plus it really adds a great deal of visual interest and "uniqueness" to the kit.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and such!

very nice kit- looks like you've done a whole lot without breaking the bank! Definitley one of the best ELX setups I've ever seen, and thats a cool thing you've got with the rack. I like the aux and electronic percussion too!

It's really striking with the curved rack. Makes me want to get a rack, just so it could be curved! Nice gear, finish and cymbals all the way around.

That is one cool looking set-up. I have a curved rack too (DW) and never thought of that approach. If I may ask, where did you get the inspiration for it? I can tell you put alot of time, effort, and thought behind that configuration. Especially with the electronics. I'll try that vertical instead of horizontal curve someday just for grins,,, or frowns, as the case may be.

I stole the idea straight from Gibraltar! http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/?fa=rf Go to their website and click "Rack Factory". Now THAT's a sweet setup! I love suspended cymbals!
