He is capable of incorporating his monster chops into grooves that are dripping with funk and dynamics, something lots of those technical masters have yet to figure out.

By far my favorite drummer.

Anybody know exactly what he's playing at 1:44-1:46 in this video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NdQyLgg3KE

I know it's here on Drummerworld too but I wanted to be able to specify the lick he's doing with the time bar.

Again something against boredom:

The brass band was hired especially for this gig and he wrote two new songs therefor.

Default BENNY GREB

I didn't find a thread on this guy, so I'm sorry if there is one. He is a really great drummer and I'm just curious to hear people's opinions about his drumming.

I heard of him about a year ago, and he is by far my favorite. He's not to popular yet. Excellent fluidity. Oh and his one groove that he plays to is called Grebfruit, and all the parts in that song (non drum parts) are all him.

One of my fav drummers, his videos are the nuts, and his groove video is just really 'slick'. His setup is nice as well, SQ2.

Mhhh, as far as I could see it on Benny`s plan he doesn`t tour in the USA very often. To keep you updated, visit his website and the gig plan: http://www.bennygreb.de/com/html/news.html

Or maybe ask him per e-mail or myspace message.

Hope I could help a bit...

Karl =)

Been checking out Meinl cymbals site alot lately, watching their videos and I must say Benny is one of the most refreshing skilled drummers I've seen in a while...

His solos are very diverse with groove and independence while still showing tremendous musicality - unlike some of the other ostinato freaks out there....

I'm REALLY diggin this dude!

He's a very good drummer. He's got the coordination and the foot technique down. On top of that, he's got a good sense of humor.

I hope he goes far in his drumming career.

I saw him do a drum clinic last year. He was one of the stars of a very high calibre group of drummers that night. Such a musical drummer and a great sense of humour too. I would definitely go and see him again.

Sounds like he's doing a RRLRRL for 1 beat followed by two double bass kicks and a snare drum hit.

I love Benny Greb, he is very unique, very groovy, and very... stylish. His drumming reminds of a real nice pair of knickers, because it's so classy, and well executed. He's a genius.

blending ostinatos and rudiments with funk and groove, there's at least a little genius to his music, that's for sure...

just a very entertaining drummer!

Just got Benny's new DVD, The Language Of Drumming.

He starts off by using a system of letters for different rythmic values.

At first I thought it might be just mumbo jumbo and him trying to find some niche
in a crowded market, but it turns out to be very clever and it does work...

Then he played and any doubts were dispelled... beautiful technique and feel.

A pleasure to watch a great player, and still in his 20s, in action.

Benny is my favourite modern drummer, so creative and groovy.

I especially like this Benny's drum solo in Montreal
