Default Kit builder software?

Hey all,

Does anyone know some good kit building software? I want to be able to design out a kit I'm building with all the measurements labeled and such. I've found a few (like this mapex one: http://mydentity.mapexdrums.com/), but I want to find one that is product agnostic. Anyone know of any good ones?

Thanks!

If you look at the different manufacturers web sites some of them have kit builder features.

I don't need any software to buy, tune, or play drums, guitars, or anything else---I've been playing MUSIC for 40 years---put down your phone, turn off your computer, and just PLAY WHAT YOU LIKE!

I don't mean software to play, I mean software to build the design of the kit.

If you are an actual drummer you should already know what you want---go to a store and PLAY some drums---YouTube and phone apps will never replace actually playing the drums!

This program let's you pick some different drum set ups and then you can drag and paste cymbals to where ever you want.

I know Remo and DW had some when I last checked 10 years ago. Not sure if they're still there (or updated)

What if I like playing using my computer? Absolutist statements are always absurd...

Gentlemen, he is looking for kit designing websites.
Please read his original post where he shows the Mydenity program.
He is NOT looking for digital or computer sampling apps or software.

Man even after he replied to the comment the guy said it AGAIN haha.

Do you have a brand in mind? most drum companies have some things on their website.

I just looked. Pearl used to have one but it's gone.

Sonor have one, You could always use it just for your sizes and design. (I'd suggest an SQ2 kit but the price is insanity)

What I would like to see is this software, with the ability to change the heads, tuning, cymbals etc. run a quick midi track and make a purchase choice. Essentially a VST sponsored by the actual drum companies.

To be honest I personally would think of what you need first, look at 100's of pictures online and start there. Any reasonable setup has most likely been used at some point before. Decide how many toms you want or use the photos to do so. Less is more to me because I gig often and hate carrying it all.

This is part of why I ask. I'm a programmer myself and considering building something like you mention. I was wondering if there was software out there that I was missing

Well, if you want a perfect dimensional representation, autocad already exists.

I love these programs! I just made a big double bass kit with 26" bass drums on that Mapex program. Don't know if this is a program that I would pay for but I am pretty cheap.

If that doesn't work then you can design a drum machine to bother the old-timers.
