I loved Michael Giles's trad jazz style breaks near the end of the album version of Cat Food with King Crimson.

This was a favourite of mine when I was a kid.

This isn't really a "drag" per se, but I'll call it a drag because Gavin's simply dragging his sticks across the toms. Regardless, I just love this fill, it always puts a smile on my face.

I like this one from Rush, too! Peart's playing was always so precise.

I don't know how to post the exact time of a video, but one of my favorites is Buddy Rich on the time out album in the song Joy Spring. It's better to listen to the whole song to get what's going on, but at 5:25 is the fill and what's cool is that the song has the same kind of shuffle as the song the op posted. It's a very musical on the spot fill.
Simple stuff.

Okay, so you've selected the video with the drum fill you like, and for simplistic purposes, let's say the fill you like is at 3:04.

So, now that you've established where the fill is in the video, with the video stopped, drag the play-bar over to 3:04 by holding down the left mouse button, stopping when you reach 3:04.

Now, right click on the Settings Gear just below the play-bar (lower right blacked out are of video), and when the pop-up box displays, left click on Copy video URL at current time, and a smaller pop-up box will display asking you if you want to allow the website to access your clipboard, click allow access.

Now, copy the URL at either the top of the screen or by way of the first pop-up box, paste into your post, and voila, you have a time-stamped video that will start at 3:04.

I'm on a cell phone but I just got an iPad to make a portable studio. Thanks for helping me out and I will keep your message for whenever I get a real computer.

I'll learn drums all day long but don't want to learn computers. That is, until the time comes when I want to use technology to record or have the resources to do what you just helped me with. I'm a hillbilly!

Nothing technical, just a weird, conversational-sounding one from Mick Fleetwood in an innocuous MTV-era Fleetwood Mac pop tune.

So few notes that say so much.

Also, a bit more common but always effective for a quick fill on beats 3 &4:
"Pat Boone, Debbie Boone" played on snare and rack tom.
I find his lick on the opening of God Bless the Child quite tasty too

Great thread idea, will try to find time to watch all clips :)

First that comes to mind is a fill by Chambers on Niacin's self titled. Second song intro, he does some shuffle-double bass-triplet fill that made my jaw drop the first time I heard it. Will post link if I find it on YT

Also Porcaro "Africa live" coming out from the solo. Perfect place, perfect feel

I freaking love Ian Paice, and this is his showcase, imo.

My personal favorite is nothing too fancy, but the fill in War Pigs that leads into the outtro. Right around 6:30 I think.
I actually thought about "Burn", but didn't know which part to pick! :D

Love it. Simon Kirke is such a clean player with an immensely deep pocket.

Here's a classic Steve Gadd fill at 1:56 that I've been stealing for years, lol.

Love the dynamic in the Gadd fill, the contrast between the ghost notes and that single hi-hat. Beautiful.

Going through this thread made me happy (most songs that couldn't be found on YT is on Spotify btw)

Thought of another favorite from my early drumming days, by Eric Kretz (Stone Temple Pilots)

Here are three goodies:
Dennis Chambers - at 6:20, but the entire drum intro of the song is great
https://youtu.be/PFObu8Lrkes

Jeff Porcaro - at 3:33 (gives me goosebumps every time I hear it)
https://youtu.be/H_Ec-7UwSkk

Eric Kretz - at 2:36
https://youtu.be/rDy4P0FXkmA

Thanks for all the drum candy posted here. Made my evening :)
