Default RIP Kim Plainfield

One of the greats left us, Kim Plainfield. What a groove, one of the best fusion drummers I heard, wonderful human being and amazing educator.

This is one of my favorite videos, RIP Kim!

Damn, that's terrible news! I was only thinking of him a couple of days ago since I sent someone this Tania Maria song with Kim's super laid back groove.

I can't find anything on Google about his passing, where is this announced?

His wife just posted it on Facebook. So sad, what a great drummer.
That Tania Maria groove is so funky

Thatīs Portinho, not Kim Plainfield, and just in case, in the live version ("Wild") is Walfredo Reyes Jr.

Sad news indeed, and best regards to Pecs too!

Yes Alex, I stand corrected. Kim Plainfield is on her other album called Bela Vista and for some reason I was thinking that Come with Me was a track from Bela Vista.

He was an amazing performer and educator. Check out his playing with Tania Maria as well as this clip https://youtu.be/HfwLKetCOpA?t=6m2s

Also, if you are not familiar with his book, Advanced Concepts, be sure to check it out. It is amazing.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Jeff
