Default Antiko drums

So...

Last year I got a beautyful snare drum.
I cant find much on internet about this artisan and his workshop, so I guess not many of u saw and heard his work.
There are few videos on yt but trust me, they sound way better live.

I talked to this guy and he replied almost instantly to all of my good and stupid questions about sound, drum building, hardware etc...

I think this guy deserves to be more popular in our community.

Here is what I got:

Antiko drums

- 13 x 5.5"
- 16 staves

- balkan flame maple aka javor džever (same wood Stradivari used to make some of his violins) not as dense as canadian rock maple. This is way better

- stave wood hoops made by him (not the tipical ply wood hoops)

- 8 brass tube lugs made by him

- Gibraltar piccolo deluxe throw off

- generic 20 steel wires (I will change to Canopus one day, but this work well)

- bearing egdes are much sharper then 45... I would say around 60

- Remo coated ambassador top and ambassador snare bot

I play it more than my Ludwig BB... yea! its that good :)

Find this guy on Facebook.

Hope u'll like this little piece of art

Nice unique looking drum,I don't believe I have seen wood hoops constructed that way before,I like the low profile and recessed t rods too.

I'm a big fan of this hoops. They have the hardness of a die cast so u can tune pretty easy but are 2-3x lighter and let the drum breath.
I didnt think that hoops could make that much difference
