Default New (to me) '68 Ludwigs!!!!!

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I gotta brag a little, then get back to my practice room!
As some of you noticed from my earlier posts, I was toying with the idea of replacing my huge (24, 14, 18) Japanese Tama rockstar kit with something smaller, but better.
Last night, on craigslist I found this '68 gold sparkle Ludwig kit in 22, 12, 16 configuration, for $500!! This morning, after some wheeling and dealing at the local musician's hangout/store, Ihad cash in hand, and now they are mine!!!

I confess to having butterflies in my stomach driving over to pick these up, as it required selling the big rockstars first, and I thought I was going to miss the big kick, in particular.
Brought 'em home, set 'em up, and Oh...My...GAWD!!!!! The tuning is a little higher on the toms, a little looser on the kick, but I feel the kick in my chest, and the toms just sing. I'm sticking with the metalworks snare I have for now, we'll see if i need anything more later. Just a few pics, then back to playing!

Really sweet kit. Congrats. You have a kit now that you may end up keeping for the rest of your life.

Phew! just played for like 4 hours straight! Haven't done that since I was a Kid!

Thanks for letting me brag a little, guys. Yeah, Harryconway, I don't think I'll be looking for anything else anytime soon. At first I thought I'd keep on the lookout for a 24, but now, I don't know if I'll bother. I sure see how Ludwig made their reputation. Amazing.

Very nice Kit justJon, for a good price ta boot!!

Based on the fact that it has a Tom Post Mount it probably rolled out of Ludwig's N. Damen Ave. Factory as a Hollywood Outfit, shown in the 1970 Catalog below. 1969-70 was right around the time they changed the Spurs and went from the Keystone Badges to the Blue & Olive style so your Kit will be slightly different...............
