Default Piano/keyboard for Drummies

Hi All,

I've been playing drums for 35 years, have formal rudimental education, and am self-taught on the kit. One of my biggest regrets is that I never learned a second instrument. I'd like to learn keys - not necessarily to become a "keyboard player" but proficient enough to be able to lay down some tracks in my home studio (using a midi keyboard to record simple bass lines, rhythm guitar, simple keyboard chord progressions, etc). I know the "correct" path would be to find a good teacher but I have neither the schedule flexibility nor the budget for that.

Which brings me to my query... Can anyone recommend a good learn-at-home, preferrably computer-based, system? I'm not a huge fan of JUST method books - they're fine if accompanied by a cd/dvd. I learn best by seeing/hearing in conjunction with reading.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Try Scott Houston. He has DVD's and internet courses, and don't have to be able to read sheet music.
