Default My Ludwig Classic Maples finally arrived!

After the longest eight weeks of my life, they're finally here. I present to you my new Luddies! Forgive the crummy camera quality. It really does the finish no justice.

The boxes. You know the feeling.

Pulling this mother****** out wasn't easy.

26'' bass drum blowing my mind as I take picture with boring 22'' in view. (haha)

Thank you for reading! They sound fantastic and are definitely an upgrade from my Catalina Maple Gretsch set. Well worth the dough. I plan on uploading some videos in the near future so stay tuned.

Nice! It's hard to tell from the pics - is that a walnut finish or more of a cherry stain?

Very nice. I had a cherry stained kit that I donated to the high school, and I still have a cherry guitar. Good color!

14 and 16" toms?

Correct on the sizes.

I love cherry stain. It's colorful but not too flashy. I almost wish I went another color though, just to have something different than my last kit which was also cherry stain. It is what it is though. I'm happy! The high end Ludwig finish is definitely better than the mid line Gretsch finish, both stain and wood grain.

The Ludwig Cherry and Mahogany Stains are two of the best finishes I have seen anywhere !

Super!!! Ah, that new drum set feeling. Nice choice, they look fantastic!!! Makes you wanna go out and by something 80 proof in a bottle. Oh, or is that just me? . . . . Be right back, going to get some!!! (Now enter the sounds of my truck's rumbly exhaust and squealing tires).

So much to love about this kit. Sizes, rail cosolette mount, BD cymbal holder. Perfect classic kit. Any plans to add an 18"?

Ludwig needs more stains and less Old Man Wraps.

bub,

Thank you. I may add the 18" some day. Right now it's not really a priority, as it's the least important drum in any set of this style. However, it sure would look great!

Haha! The spring broke during my first jam with the kit. It was a buzz kill, but it was late and I didn't want to bother fixing it. I've got some spare coils somewhere around here.
