Default Cymbal Suggestion

Hey guys, Im new to the forum. I just had a few questions since im getting back into drumming, I quit about 3 years ago, but I want to get back into it, I just purchased a used Gretsch Catalina Ash drum kit (6 piece) 3 rack toms. The question is, What cymbals should I go for? Im an intermediate drummer, Not a beginner by any means. I just don't know what cymbals are good anymore, I like alternative Rock/ Pop. I only use Zildjian, For their customer service and the quality, Its all I used before I quit. So I would like to stick with Zildjian but I don't know if I should get the pack of ZBT's to start, Or to go straight for A customs or K customs, I buy all my cymbals used. Budget is not an issue, I just don't know what I should start with to really learn again on. Maybe even go with something in the middle like ZHT's? I don't know though since they just updated them. Thanks a lot guys.

If you're just getting back into it and you're buying used, I would say to stay away from ZHT and ZBT series cymbals, because you will want to upgrade anyways. If anything, as far as scraping the bottom of the barrel, get an A Custom/A/K/K Custom crash and maybe suffer with some lower quality hats and a ride until you find some good ones.

Congrats on getting back into it, good luck, and welcome to the forum!

Thank you Caddy xD You can actually pick up some really good deals on Great quality used cymbals, I've done it in the past, I should have no problem getting A Custom Hats and A or K custom crash. That's the way I was leaning, But the suggestion really helped, Thanks alot :)

I can't think of anything less exciting or adventurous than a new cymbal pack.

Buy used, especially as you are coming back and know your stuff.
Sabian AA's, older A Zildjians...all in plenty on used markets and super good deals.
The fun is in the journey of trying out all kinds of cymbals in person.

Ya, you can find some good deals on Vintage Zilldjian A cymbals. I found one on Craigslist for only $20, but that was a lucky grab. You wouldn't catch me selling it for that much.
