Default The Clash

I was skimming youtube this morning when up popped "Rudie Can't Fail" from the Clash's London Calling album - an album that is on my short list of the greatest rock/punk albums ever. Anyway it reminded me of a funny story - when I was a junior in high school I was in a poetry class and had to - you guessed it - write a poem. I was starving for ideas so I decided to "re-write" the lyrics from "All Lost in the Super Market". I turned my re-write in and waited for my grade. A couple of days later in poetry class my teacher, probably in his 40s at the time gave my poem back to me with a grade and a comment:

F -

"Michael, Joe Strummer said "Rudie Can't Fail" - but you just did".

Default Re: The Clash

That's super funny! The Clash is one of my favorite bands of all time, and London Calling is one of the best albums ever written if you ask me.

And "Lost in the Supermarket" is one of my favorite songs of theirs, go figure.
