Default 6mm Hihat Clamp Doesnt Fit

So i purchased 2 6mm hh clamps, but didnt know how to find out my pedals sizing and just assumed they all were the same (never had a problem in 20 years.

Unfortunately its too tight and wont go on the shaft. Is there anything i can do with this?

You're not having much of a time of it here, are you?

May I suggest the old addage "measure twice, cut once" to you? :-)

I feel your pain. I was in a similar fix about a year ago. I had not purchased much in the way of new hardware in about 10 years. I had Tama hardware and it really never needed much. I wanted to replace the T-style cymbal sleeves. Well, they don't make those anymore. Gibraltar had a generic offering that felt as though you were cross threading the whole damn time. That wouldn't do for quick set ups and tear downs between sets.

I fell back to thinking I might just replace the upper boom arm. Nope. Not anymore. Different sizing. I think it's a great way for the industry to make their close to bulletproof hardware need replacing. lol.

I bit the bullet and ended up replacing my old stands with new offerings. I imagine you could find something on the interwebs that would work. Just make sure you are looking for the right size.

Good luck.

Are you talking about the 'clutch'?

There are various sizes. I found out the hard way that a Yamaha drop clutch won't fit on a DW rod. As much as we would like uniformity and standardization, the manufacturers mostly likely do not.
