Not exactly exciting and a bit practical, but mine has been a 12" x 5" and a 12" x 7" Protection Racket snare drum bags. Usual retail is £35 to £38 but these were £19.99 each. Perhaps it's because one has a shoulder strap and the other is backpack style as they wouldn't have been my choice, however now that they're here I appreciate the practicality of them. Getting my hardware bag, cymbal bag and snare drum up the stairs to rehearsal last night was a breeze.

Yamaha HS850 hi hat stand. So far so good. Not much heavier than others I've tried.

Zildjian K Heavy Ride - Jason Bittner was right, this ride can be used for Metal, Rock, Funk, Latin, Jazz, anything... I'm using it in a metal band. Cuts through, great bell and crashes beautifully!

I had my eye on a Tama Starclassic B/B for a while. Upgraded a bit from my Silverstar. I swore if I ever got a 2nd set, it would be a sparkle finish. Vintage Blue Sparkle was in my radar until I found this finish.

I like the kit, but the "bounciness" of the mounted toms and floor toms will take time to get accustomed to. I love the sound though!

I continue my mundane buying streak with this, two New Old Stock 12" Code "Generator" drumheads. Two ply with an outer dampening ring puts them firmly in Pinstripe-a-like territory, however an online search of Pinstripes brought up prices from around £17 up to £22, so at £5 each these were a bargain. In terms of weight they feel similiar to a Pinstripe I've got lying around, no time to put one on my snare ahead of tonight's gig but I'm pleased so far with their look and feel.

not very exciting, but i needed soft cases because i now drive a car with leather seats, and my hard flight cases were scratching up my seats.
Also, nice to have extra drum pads around for that sudden urge lol

oops almost forgot the best part....the chad smith cow bell....sounds perfect for my proto-metal band I'm gonna be working with.

Singleflam, that kit óbreathtaking! I picked up this Joyful Noise seamless bronze drum, hand-engraved by John Aldridge. One of two. Literally a work of art and now that Iíve swapped heads, it sounds extraordinary.

I just received my first INDe drum by UPS today. I missed the delivery by truck so I had to go fetch it at the UPS store, Such fun...

Anyway, I gave it a basic tuning and took a video...

https://youtu.be/nfVUsceIJZA

And a few pictures. It's a 6.5x14 Aluminum INDe Snare Drum. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Thanks man. I did it no justice in the video with my sloppy playing, but you can hear how loud it is.

The photos give it an optical illusion. They look better on a computer screen. It's actually quite normal. I opted for a deep one though because I already have two 5' deep aluminum snare drums.

My latest purchase is peripherally drum related. We moved and my new home has a huge unfinished basement-that will contain my new drum room. So it's a nested purchase too-cause now I gotta buy all the stuff to build my drum room. The last pic is where I tentatively set up the kit.

Sweet! Are you doing the whole soundproofing/room-within-a-room thing or just giving yourself space to do your thang?

"Sweet! Are you doing the whole soundproofing/room-within-a-room thing or just giving yourself space to do your thang?" I'm thinking a room-within-a room thang. Except the flooring, that I plan to make sturdy-the sides and room itself I think I can make fairly lightweight-going to try isolation by suspension and try noise cancellation by funneling sound escape points to interfere with each other-and also muffling mass (which can be light weight). Applying noise cancellation theory seems easier than trying to prevent noise escaping.

"Survival Guide for the Modern Drummer"

The 100+ backing tracks alone will make this a great deal. I like that the book provides a few basic groves and builds on them with added accents, ghost notes, additional hats, etc. And even has various fill suggestions, explanations. And he goes over the form of songs. It seems very simplified yet still years of practice material. Its somewhat daunting actually! I'm just gonna start with the extremely simple pop grooves on the first page with the first 4 tracks and just vary them in all possible ways and try and get a good ear for combining drums with the "band". Unfortunately my roland kit cant deal with rim shots, buzz rolls, or ride bell :(

I think I did pretty well for $280!!

If you didn't automatically identify these beauties they are:
18" Zildjian Breakbeat
20" Zildjian K Dry Light ride

I finally have found the perfect cymbals!! I only use 2 at a time so I am set as soon as I find some hats to go with!

These two. Bought them at NAMM on a last day steal and couldn't figure out why I didn't own something like this before.
I already have a small toolbox with most of these things in it. Now I have it in one small deal.

The T handle key is a God send. Used it this very weekend in fact.

Picked up a Ludwig Standard kit in blue strata off craigslist, in fairly poor shape, as a restoration project in preparation for a White Album show where I'm the house Ringo. 22/12/13/14/16, with Rogers Swiv-O-Matic mounts for the rack toms.

So far I've disassembled the kick drum, polished up all the hardware with some Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish and fine-grit steel wool, shone up the wrap with TurtleWax, reassembled, and given a once-around with high gloss ArmorAll. The 16 will be reassembled tonight, and I'll get started on the 13 to have the Ringo kit ready for March 23rd.

I'm going to use this kit quite a bit as a 22/12/14/16, or as a 20/12/14/16 with my Rogers Holiday kick.

Got that right. The way the natural wood grain pops is just a work of art. Much like the drums Outlaw makes from raw wood.
