If I was a ladyperson I'd find gynaecologists annoying too.

Pretty much everything!

I told my wife "so and so makes me crazy" and she says "WHO DON'T?"

Point taken, but lately the one that really get's me is women texting on the highway at 75 mph. I'm glad I'm not armed.

It started slowly with a stiff feeling in my joints, but soon even my facial features felt stiff and wooden. That's when I realized that I was truly pissed off at everything and everybody.

I'm a crap driver. I have a lousy sense of direction and can be paralysed by uncertainty. Not many people will admit this.

A lot of these comments are about driving and getting around in a dense population. Clearly the biggest aggravation of our time.

When I used to deliver pizza, the best tips came from middle class slobs, the worst tips came from the biggest houses. One older woman made a big deal about it.."Oh let me get you a tip"....she walks into another room and....totally serious, she hands me a dime. This was in 1985 or so. You have to wonder about people like that.
+10000.The rich, with little exception, are cheap, and resent even having to pay you at ALL.I was doing odd jobs for a while, fixing decks,drywall,plumbing..and the occasional wide screen TV installation, which back in the day, took some doing.

I got the "well this is too much,I can't pay this(several BWM'sAudi's and Porche, parked in the driveway,8 bedroom house, dripping with gold..ect.).I'd explain that I'm just the installer. There is a retail fee for the TV,and you agreed to pay then,as well as the install fee, which was based on my initial survey of the work to be done. All wiring to be behind the walls, under floor ect.No picnic,Larry can tell you..There is NO wiggle room. The price is the price.

Then ,he would start to get ,"well I'm a lawyer and I'll sue you if you don't install my TV ,RIGHT NOW!.
This is the best part, because, now he's desperate, and his ego is is being deflated.I then tell them,It's great being a lawyer, cause,my daughter is a lawyer too,and I'm a retired NYPD crime scene detective...and I eat lawyers for breakfast....counselor.

At this point, the TV and all the wiring, connectors ect...are still on the truck, and this dip shit, begins to recognize that I'm not some double digit I.Q. looser, who he can imtimidate at will.I then say, well,I guess, the store will be the one.who'll be suing you...good day sir.

Wait..wait......I'm sorry,I guess I'm having a bad day.How much did you say it was?I then refuse to take a check, and have him call the store, and use a verified debit/ credit card to purchase the TV and install. That way,the money comes out of his account,on the spot.During the entire exchange,I was a polite as could be,till I finally, put my verbal boot on this dooche nozzles neck.

"Well,I hope you don't expect a tip".My reply was," wow..how unexpected"..

After the install,I'm required to have the customer, inspect the entire installarion, and have him, sign the customer survey form. It basicly states, that they can't claim later on that we ,or I,are liable for anything. The manufacturer ,must address electronic defects. He was furious,as I'm sure,he had some future litigation in mind, and now..that wouldn't happen.

The best part is when I was done, this humanoids wife was just getting home, and we were passing each other in the 6 car driveway, after a brief conversation about the TV,she says,"he did give you the tip, didn't he? I think to myself...how can this pleasent, attractive woman,be married to satans step son?.

No mamn,I assume it slipped his mind.

Wait right here. She came out of the house, with 50 in her hand, and says thank you,and mutters something about ''I fuc#ing hate him..Have a great day...thanks again.

Sweet victory. They are few and far between, but when they come..it's ambrosia.:)

40 percent of all accidents are caused by people who have been drinking. That means 60 percent of them are sober. We need to get more people drinking.

I think it's the difference between the working class folks who know the value of a service and respect you for helping, and the rich folk with their nose in the air who believe that they are entitled to anything they desire, on their terms, simply because they have money and in most cases did very little to actually earn it.

Absolutely nothing.

I found a while ago that annoyance is just pity trying to get out.

Once I quit trying to avoid the pity, I have no annoyance.

Otto, your statement is not working for me, when I hit a pothole, that annoys me, and there's no pity in a pothole. Annoyances doesn't always come from humans.

I'm a pretty easygoing guy and I make a point of not letting thing get to me...

Except when my wife/roommate don't refill the Brita filter. That is my crazy button. When we buy a house I'm going to have a water filter installed. I'm gonna give the person they send to install it a fat tip and when they're done give them a hug and make them a sandwich for saving my marriage.

Ha! I liked the DW member who said something about the Okay so ("oh queso") .. funny.

Other than the "so" thing, it's misspellings. Especially the word "cymbals" in Craigslist ads.

You know, I've never read an ad for drums with a misspelling where the drums being sold were of decent quality. Anyway you know ...

symbols
cymbols
cymbles

I've even come across an ad for "drumbs". Yes. Drumbs. As in "I have some crumbs in my drumbs". Good god.

It annoys me when people get annoyed when others start a sentence with so lol. (not really) I like it though. It makes me feel that whoever is talking to me...is a close friend. Like everything that came before is understood and this is a new development. I feel in on the action. But out of compassion to the ones who don't like it, I'll refrain. Not sure that I can stop completely.

The groove vs chops thread annoys me.

People at work (I am an IT guy) who ask me questions that are easily Google-able - I mean I don't mind taking credit for solving problems but the laziness of "Mike will fix it" bothers me.

People driving slow in the passing lane

People texting while driving

When someone interrupts me.

Keeping it real - that bothers me.

Homophobes, racists and sexists.

Religious people who recruit - all sects.

Creationists

People who don't believe in global warming, the big bang, dark matter or black holes.

People who use God to fill in the blanks for things they don't understand.

Anyone who abuses animals, children or women.

Excuses

Whining

Quitters

Fakers

Probably more but I am done.

MM

ahhh...consider the concept of self pity... : ) ...as we do not hold feelings for the pothole...but for our own experience OF the pothole....allowing your pity to move through you at your direction instead of directly opposing it can define a good vrs a bad day.

Anger(at the root of annoyance) vrs Acceptance is a way to look at it.

I think a large impediment to human development is believing that accepting something means agreeing with it. Try reading "acceptance" as "taking in".

I accept the pothole...and will email my regional representative re: the poor quality of road maintenance in my neighborhood...and I will not allow "resistance to reality" to add negativity to my thought process and rob me of energy...but I will allow it to fuel my rolling from uke to tori...and around again...and again...again...

Same perception applys to the cyclical patterns in drumming, for me...something not seeming to work will become brilliance in a moments rolling transformation...and my intention(sic. ego) is not the measure...but the spark...neither owning or forcing...but moving with the pattern.

People who use the word "literally" in a figurative sense, as in "He's literally as big as a house". No, no he's not, not unless you're referring to a doll house.

People who say "You do the math" or who in any way denigrate knowledge of mathematics. No one would ever brag about being illiterate but these folks offer no self-shame at being innumerate.

People who "thank god" that their cat was spared when the tornado blew apart their house (or similar situation). Really? He just blew apart your house and you're thanking him because he left Tibbles behind?

People who distrust the government but who apparently have no problem trusting for-profit corporations to look out for this person's best interest. That's pretty close to the definition of "cognitive dissonance".

People who say "I'm an artist therefore I can't understand science". The converse is equally bad.

The "male nurse" is a good one that really gets me....

After handover, the nurse on the previous shift says to the patient..."yes, he is a male nurse but he is REALLY caring and good at his job..."

It is like they feel compelled to make excuses for me.

The funny thing is that I personally receive more thank you cards and letters of recommendation from patients than any other nurse in ICU.

Patients nearly always say they enjoy male nurses more and that they are more compassionate and patient than female nurses (on average).

Oh, the other thing that annoys me is when I am on a dinner break in the staff room and I may be sitting alone and I am joined by a colleague and she is compelled to remove her shoes to rub her feet.

Remember that we do 12 hour shifts and it is a small room....do the math.

PEEEYEEEWWWW!

I hate being caught in traffic. They say the average person spends two weeks in traffic in their lives. I've already surpassed that milestone and can safely say that months of my life must have been wasted on the roads by now.

My cat annoys me too Madge. He doesn't have to work. He has zero worries. All his needs are met without him having to lift a claw. He meows at me 2 hours before I have to get up in the morning and I have to let him out, that cat bastard. That really annoys me. From now on when he is sleeping, I will make sure that he doesn't get his full nap in, what goes around comes around.

It also annoys me when drums are called tubs and cymbals are called pies.

I tried this with my dogs. When I eat, they stare. Not get right up to my plate and beg, but sit far enough away and stare so it is known that they are interested in whatever I am eating. I tried returning the favor, sitting right next to the bowl and staring. I think they enjoyed the company...

People who have annoying dogs annoy me. Some dogs are cool for sure. I'm talking about the stupid ones who think I am there to pet them. I get to go in a lot of different houses for my work, and most people have dogs it seems. The dogs are constantly jumping up on me, burying their nose in my crotch, and making me trip because they are always at my feet. Also I can't stand barking dogs. I just want to electrocute their vocal chords. When you have a tradesman come in to your house, lock up the dogs for Pete's sake.

It annoys me when customers leave their animals in a cage not much bigger than the animal while they are at work. I feel so sorry for the poor animal. I also don't like seeing birds in cages.

In a former relationship, my then live in GF had a parakeet. I felt so bad for that poor bird. One day, I decided to take the cage outside so the poor bird could at least get some sunshine and fresh air. Well, later on, the wind knocked the cage over, the door popped open and the bird flew off. No good deed goes unpunished lol. No one liked me much that day.

But it worked out pretty good for the bird, because the very next day, my dishwasher caught fire. (long story) It was almost a disaster, but the fire company arrived in time. (I wasn't home) The bird would have suffocated for sure. Funny the way some things work out. As it was the house got severely smoke damaged and was probably about 10 minutes from being totally consumed. (windows were all closed for the A/C) But the house was spared for the most part.

One of our cats usually sleeps on the bed. I often wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning, and when I do, I make sure I wake the cat. Payback.

This isn't quite true. Arky did it, and survived (with minimal scarring, I'm told). I'm just a pussycat really.

James my dear, do you recall a PM I sent you entitled "JACKPOT!"? Just remindin' about dishes best served cold ...

What annoys me more than ANYTHING else is people that stick their head in the sand and deny responsibility. More specifically, band members who blame others for the fact they don't know/can't play their stuff. You can lead the horse to the water, send them recordings and all and then the answer is they can't hear their [whatever instrument] in the recording. And once again it's somebody else's problem and somebody else's fault. I don't let my kids get away with such excuses, why would I let 40 yr olds? And when you tell them that, they bugger off, as happened tonight.
OK the buggering off part was actually OK. I'm sure it will help us progress, or so we will conclude a few weeks down the road, I hope.

Amen. One of the big reasons people think I don't like dogs is that they refuse to discipline their damn dogs and as a result, they are boundary-less little terrors. I don't want your dumb dog to stick it's nasty (usually un-washed) face, paws etc all over me. Don't let him jump on me, put it's nose on me, or lick me. I shouldn't have to smell like dog slobber all day because you let your dog put his slobbery head on my jeans. Put it outside when guests come over unless it's well trained not to jump on people or get all up in their space annoyingly.

In the U.S:

People without medical insurance and pharmacy coverage
Children/Families going to bed hungrey, while we pay farmers not to grow
Homeless people, there is no reason for this. There is more than enough room and materials to fix this.

American actors trying to imitate Australian accents

It never works

The Aussie accent is THE greatest in all English speaking nations

Aussie actors play Aussie characters please

Meryl Streep playing Lindy Chamberlain is a classic example

"...A dingos' got moi bway bwee..."
