Default What does 'Indirect Support' mean at a club?

My sister's band got asked if they want a slot playing at a club with Missing Persons but they were offered the 'Indirect Support' slot she says...

What does that mean, playing after?

Usually direct support is the band right before the headliner, indirect support is everyone else on the bill. Often times it will also refer to the bands playing on seperate stages allowing multiple bands to claim direct support on the main stage.

Yes some of the new terminology is funny to hear! My favorite- a "360 deal" in that a label will give you what you think will be a decent point spread on the album but in return they get a piece of the merch money. In other words, they get 360 (all around) of the profits.

Bands will oftentimes make more in merch sales than in actual music sales.

But I'm bouncing down the road towards off-topic, now aren't I? :D
