I just recently purchased a Yamaha dtx700 set, I am in the military and I will be transferring to japan soon and I'm taking the set with me, but I want it to be well protected from clumsy movers. I've searched around and I couldn't find any hard cases made specifically for an electric kit. Can someone point me in the right direction! I'm thinking about fabricating something up but I'd rather buy a well made case, thanks in advance for the help!

Or if anyone has a DIY guide on how to make one that would be great too!!

Gator makes a soft case for electronic kits. You can check it out here. You could probably build or purchase a sturdy case similar to the soft one and line it with knock-out block foam. You could then customize the case to suit your kit. There are a few suitcase style cases that you could customize to take parts of the kit as well (the electronics for instance).

Do a Google search for "electric drum cases" and you'll likely get some good ideas.

I hope this helps!

I have seen the gator case and the protection racket case, but I still want the protection of a hard case. I did alot of searching around on google and in forums, and still have not found at least a how to guide on a hard case. I'm surprised I haven't found anything. I would think that drum case companies would have capitalized on this already! Either way I'm going to fabricate my own case and maybe put a guide up!

If you disassemble the kit I'm sure it would fit into an SKB hardware case.

my drum teacher disassembles his electric kit and puts the brain and drums/triggers in a hardcase hardware case and just puts the rack in the car
