Default Expanding TD 12 with TD9 module

I presently have a Roland td12 module with all its inputs being occupied. I was wondering if I can add a td 9 module along with the td12 somehow to enable more pads. Any suggestions will be readily appreciated.

If I were you I would first look at some other options, if you have dual zone abilty on the toms, so the rim has a sound and the pad has a sound, you can use a splitter and get two pads on the one input.

You can add another brain and use a mixer to pull yhem together or I would assume you can take the stereo out of one and geed it into the aux in of the other.

You need to use special splitters that have a resistor built in to them for this to work. A regular TRS splitter from Radio Shack wont work. You can buy the splitters at http://drumsplitters.com/

I use these with my TD-30 and they work pretty good. Very few/minor mis-triggers with them.

For expanding your TD-12 with the TD-9, just plug the headphone jack from the TD-9 in to the "mix in" jack on the back of your TD-12. Adjust the volume and you are good to go.

Sorry about replying a little late and thanks to both of you for an answer to my dillema. I'm new to electronic drums so I may have some juvenile questions. Just one thing though will I get a different tone from each input to a splitter?

What do you mean by "a different tone"? The splitter that I mentioned in my post will split the rim and head inputs so you can connect 2 different pads and get two different sounds out of them. They will only be "single zone" but they work great for things like splashes or other accent cymbals or percussion.
