Default Roland TD-4KP with Broken HiHat Trigger

I have a TD-4KP just a few months old and suddenly the hihat trigger stopped working. The pedal is fine and the cymbal pad itself works--just the trigger is dead. So the company from Germany (very nice people) sent me a new cable set (and they paid the shipping to Israel) but it still is broken.

I wonder if it could be the monitor itself? I don't know what else it could be.

Any ideas?
