Default Recording drums

Hey All,

I've been struggling for months to learn proper recording, processing and mastering of drum tracks and I'm getting close but could really use some help. Because there are just so many variables the only thing I can think of is if there's a place on a site somewhere where you can put a picture of kit showing mic placement, and a 4 or 8 bar audio loop of the sound you're trying to achieve, and then a 4 or 8 bar loop of what you've recorded. Then someone could comment on how you might tweak a mic, or an EQ, or whatever.

Does anyone know of something like this?

Thanks for any ideas!
