Default pedal ?

Since I need to buy a kick pedal, and a hihat stand, Is the norm to stay with 1 manufacturer so both pedals match ? Or, Is mix em' up common practice ?

No, why should it?
You simply buy the best product for you. And that could be two different brands, unless you want to look the foot plates similar.

Go check stuff out, and buy what works best for you.

What I have seen is that endorsers have matching hi-hat and kick pedals. Most big name drummers are endorsers, so there you go.

Me, I have a Rogers Supreme hi hat stand and a couple of DW5000 bass pedals that I Frankensteined together using my favorite parts from 5 different pedals.

They have the action that best suits me, so they are what I use.

Some people like to have everything match, including the shells and stands, one brand for everything.

It's up to you, whatever suits your personal set of aesthetics and utility.
