I'm floored :(

Just this minute received the most dreadful phone message. Our lighting guy/long time roadie & dear band friend, suffered a burst aorta last night, & is in intensive care fighting for his life. We have a big headline rally gig on Saturday, & I'm not sure any of us will be in the mood for playing.

Oh God, Andy, how dreadful, poor man and his poor family and friends.

I hope he pulls through.

That really is awful. Hope he makes it through okay.

As for the gig, play it for him. It will give you a reason to want to play, and want to play well.

Praying for a strong recovery for your friend

I hope he makes it through, Andy. Hopefully they caught it in time. That is what did my dad in and he was gone in just a few hours after the initial rupture. Sorry to hear that.

Thanks for your kind thoughts guys. Not many survive this terrible affliction, but we're all rooting for him. Not only is he a very dear friend to all the band, but he's our singer's life long best friend, so everything's up in the air right now :(

I'm sorry to hear of your father going the same way.

Wow Andy, that is very difficult indeed. Good thoughts and well wishes sent to everyone involved and touched by the situation.

Thinking of you and your bandmates and sending lots of positive energy your way!

Oh I'm so sorry Andy...A burst aorta, that does not sound good. That's a real blow to all his friends and family...Prayers sent....

So sorry to hear of your friend, Andy. I hope it all turns out in the best way possible for you guys and for him.

Thanks again for your positive thoughts guys. Unfortunately, Oz has taken a turn for the worse, & is now on full life support. Remaining family have been requested, & two of our band members are taking the journey as I type this. I can't describe how down I am right now.

Photo of our crew guys at one of our gigs. Oz is in the foreground.

These guys work hard & put in a very professional performance. Many of our shows take some putting together. They do it for nothing more than the love of it, + expenses & a small gratuity. That says everything about these two guys, & the kind of people they are. Bugger :(

I'm so sorry to hear that, Andy. I'm pulling for all of you.

Sorry about your friend Andy.I do hope it turns out well, and wish him and his family the very best in a bad situation.

It's tough to function normally when something like this happens escentially to a member of your family.I know the "show must go on" ,but personally I would honor my friend by doing what he would have wanted to do had roles been reversed.

Wish you the best mate.

Sorry to hear that Andy. My thoughts are with all concerned.

Thanks guys. As for doing the gig, we're on hold, & we've pretty much left the call up to our singer (Oz's life long best friend). We have to respect his headspace, & that will depend on what happens over the next 24 hours or so.

Oz has now been in surgery for nearly 4 hours. Believe it or not, that's viewed as a pre - op. They'd pretty much given up on him earlier today, but they've decided to give it one last shot. If he makes it off the table, they'll air lift him to QE2 in Birmingham (a specialist centre). He's hanging by a thread. This really f&%^ing sucks, & I haven't had dry eyes all day.
