Default Tama Artstar Custom Premium Maple???

I picked up a Tama Artstar Custom Premium Maple kit off of craigslist earlier this evening 10/12/13/16/22, it's got scratches but nothing too deep and needed new heads, a few tension rods, and floor tom legs. I've been wanting a maple kit for a while and I hope it was worth the $70 I paid for it!

I put Coated Vintage Emperors on the batter side of the toms and Coated Ambassadors on the resonant side, I left the Aquarian Regulator kick drum resonant head on and put a Coated Powerstroke 3 on the batter side.
I won't get a chance to test them out for a few days but I'll let you guys know how it goes, hopefully the heads I chose work out it's what I use on my Starclassic Performer Birch kit.

I didn't include the 10" and 12" toms in the picture

I cannot believe you got that for $70!!! From what I remember, the Artstars were supposed to have thicker shells than normal. Was that the case with these?

Eventually I'd like to rewrap them but in the mean time I'm definitely going to play the hell out of them!

The guy threw in a hard case for the kick drum also. I don't think he knew what he had or maybe he just didn't give a shit, I don't know and I don't care!!

Yeah they definitely have thick shells I only have the 12" tom at home but it looks to be 9 ply. I gave the kit a short test run this morning and the drums sounded great, swapped out the kick drum batter head with a Super Kick and it opened up nicely.

You could get almost 200 for the die cast rims alone. Nice score boner. That last sentence is sitting kind of funny.

That's great. Those drums were good ones. At 70 bucks, if you don't like them you can sell them for more than you paid, easy.
