Default Ludwig Hi Hat Stand Troubles

The past couple of days i have been having troubles with getting my hi hat cymbals to close all the way. Now the clutch will not lock on to the stand so the cymbals won't move. Any suggestions? Should I try buying a new clutch?

If this is a new stand, then it's a warranty issue. If you've had it for some time, just buy a new clutch. They're about $10 to $15 USD. Try taking the set bolt out of the clutch just to see if either It or the clutch might be stripped. This is the only thing that would cause the shaft and the clutch to be slipping. If the threads are damaged on the bolt, you might be able to find something that works at the hardware store.
