Default How can I get a second set of hi-hats?

I've seen Kai Hahto of Wintersun playing a second set of hi-hats on his right (13 inch maybe?), and I really liked the idea.

Now I'm thinking to get a second set too. But I just don't know what you need for them. Like, what kind of stand, any other special items or tools.

If someone can tell me how I can get it done, I'd be much glad. :) Links would be much much appreciated.

The set I'm thinking to get is a Wuhan 13". Anywhere I can buy them for cheap with worldwide shipping?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Go to the Gibraltar hardware website: they have just about every type of drum hardware there is. You need an attachment for an X hat. Peace and goodwill.

Most people with right-side hi-hats mount them one of two ways: on an x-hat (stationary, doesn't open or close except by hand) or a remote cabled hi-hat (works just like your regular hi-hat stand).

Gibraltar sells a pretty decent x-hat; or, if you prefer, they sell a little threaded deal that fits on a cymbal boom you already have.

As for remote hi-hats, Pearl, DW and Yamaha are the big sellers of those devices.

Memphis Drum Shop does international shipping, and I know they carry Wuhan products. Check with them for applicable restrictions.

If you're getting an independent one, also look at the Tama MXA53. It's a non-foot-operated one but it has a little spring-loaded lever that lets you put the hi-hats in a closed (tight) position or an open position. Here's a video.

Thank you guys for the help. I think now I know how to get it done. I liked the Tama one most though. Guess I'll get that. :)

Thanks again to everyone.
