The Money For Nothing album was a compilation album which featured tracks from their first 5 albums. Pick Withers was the drummer on the first 4 albums and Terry Williams replaced him. However Terry only played the introduction to the song Money For Nothing on the Brothers In Arms album. The drums on the rest of that album were played by Omar Hakim. Off the top of my head I have no idea what gear any of then used at the time but I believe Omar Hakim used to be a Pearl player (if indeed he isn't anymore).

I wonder who played drums for the Live Aid 1985?

on edit:

Quote:
According to a Sound on Sound magazine interview with Neil Dorfsman, a month after the recording sessions began, drummer Terry Williams was temporarily replaced by jazz session drummer, Omar Hakim, who recorded all the drums for the album tracks during a two day stay before leaving for other commitments. Both Hakim and Williams are credited on the album, although Williams' only contribution is the improvised crescendo at the beginning of "Money for Nothing". The remainder of the album features Hakim on drums, but Williams would be back in the band for the music videos and the subsequent world tour.

That was Terry Williams. As it happens, Dire Straits were in the vicinity at the time. Live Aid was staged at the old Wembley stadium on July 13th 1985 which was during the Brothers In Arms tour. At that time Dire Straits were at the tail end of playing 13 consecutive shows at Wembley arena. On that day they played their set at Live Aid and then went back to the other end of the complex to play their own gig.
