Default New Recording/Live Mic set-up advice needed!

Does anyone have a greater deal of understanding in regard to drum mics?
I'm currently out in Europe, and I'm in need for some new mics and I have not a clue what I should get.
I'm a noob I admit =)
Not really a budget limit.. But still don't plan on spending over 4 grand..

Thanks!!

A couple Shure sm57's and a AKG D112 kick drum mic would be an excellent starting point.

Alright! And do I need to double Mic the kick with those?
Cause I've been doing some research and allot of fellow drummers use 2 different mics to record or whatever. No idea why though.. haha Thanks!

What king of music are you playing, how many inputs do you have?

Are you building a recording mic collection?

Presonus Studio Live 32.4.2A
So a 32 Channel Digital mixer.
The thing is I play a variation of music.
Most of the time its rock-Metal though.
I'm building a set that works perfectly studio wise.
But on some occasions I need my own mics in a live situation, when the PA guys don't have enough drum mics to power my kit =)
