Tony...nice playing and what a fat sounding snare.Very warm, yet enough cut to be heard.Very nice drum.

I've never had a Fibes fiberglass snare, but I did at one time have a Tama Fiberstar 14x5.5.It was a great drum, and I never should have sold it.Cheers

I own one - have used it, carefully, for years. A superbly made instrument. The combination of fiberglass shell, modern bearing edge, and a snare system that, to my mind, is perfect, make for a drum that is extremely sensitive, and can play from ppp to fff without difficulty. The classic, with a spring steel chromed wrap, is now hard to find, especially intact. The advantage of this drum, over a brass or metal snare, is a less brittle sound; while dry, the drum speaks with almost no coloration, which is why it was a favorite of a lot of drummers over the years, including Buddy, Jack Sperling, Jake Hanna, Grady Tate, Alan Dawson, and others. The number of drummers who used one while endorsing other drum makes is legendary.
