Default Quick Q3HD question

Hi all. I'm looking at purchasing a Zoom Q3HD to record some videos.
I mainly use an electronic kit (DTX530) and was wondering if I am able to use the Q3 line-in for the DTX and the built-in mics (for me talking) simultaneously?

Zoom says no:

Q: Can signals be input through both the LINE IN jack and the built-in microphones at the same time?
A: No, this is not possible. When an external device is connected to the LINE IN jack, the built-in microphones are disabled.

Thanks for your quick response anyway!

I have the same delimna. If you use the line in it cuts off the mics. I play to my iPod so all I get is my drum sound with no music.

If your e-drum module has a line-in you could always plug your mic into that, and then pipe the module to your Q3

Te best of both worlds will require a small mixer and an external mic if you want to talk.

IPod to DTX. DTX to mixer line in.
Mic for talking to Mixer

Mixer line out to Zoom

My DTX has a line in that I use with my iPhone. Works great!
