Default Gibraltar tubes too heavy

I like, not love, the Gibraltar hardware, clamps, etc... for my drumset. I think it is very sturdy, easy to work with but.....

Everything is so damn heavy!

The clamps and mounts are heavy but I can deal with that.

What bothers me is the tubes are so damn heavy!

Has anyone found a graphite or other material tube to replace the tubes to cut down the weight significantly? Where did you get them from?

Thanks!

Default Re: Gibraltar tubes too heavy

Mj/cirque percussionist Taku uses dw clamps (chromed and sleeker so I guess lighter then the black gibby hardware) and special carbon pipes for the bas of his rack cage. The most visible parts are chrome pipes.

They should make carbon bended pipes in mass production.
