Default Recording Kit - Gavin Harrison Snare, Tama Warlord Masai and more!

Long time no see my fellow forumers!

This forum doesn't have enough kit threads (*wink*) so I thought I'd add yet another.

So this is the "frankenstein kit" I put together for a friend's acoustic album. Should be a nice change of pace compared to the music I usually play.

Specs!
Kit;
-18x16" Sonor Force 2007 bass drum (tuned wide open. It has great tone and a boom that'll take your head off!)
-12x5" Sonor Limited Edition Gavin Harrison maple designer snare (signed by the man himself!)
-10x8" Tama Warlord Masai Tom
-14x12" Tama Warlord Masai Floor Tom
Cymbals;
-14" Meinl Byzance Sand Hats
-20" Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom
-21" Sabian Vault Ambiance Ride (played by Will Calhoun)
-17" Zildjian K Custom Dark Crash

Mics/Presets upon request.

Also Sorry for the iPhone pics, I couldn't be bothered to find an actual camera.

-Jonathan

p.s. that list pic is for all of you who just like me are slightly annoyed the drums don't match. But they sound killer so that's what counts!

Also, I've acquired a few new goodies in the cymbal department!

1 - Sabian 21" Vault Ambient Ride with 2 sizzles I call this one"Miss Sizzle"

2 - 22" Vintage Zildjian A ride. no idea what year, but i've named this one "Gramps"

3 - Meinl 20" Byzance Sand Ride. Currently my favourite ride. I named this one "Sandy". (Creative huh?)

4 - Meinl 14" Byzance Sand Hats. Holy #%&^. These are swampy. great definition too!

Great kit! Who cares if it isn't matched? It reminds me of an old golf saying:

"There's no room for pictures on the scorecard."

Looks cool Jonathan, & great to have you back here again. I missed your superb playing. be sure to put up some video or audio when you can. Kit looks great, cymbals look very tasty, some nice mic's, but man, learn to tidy your damn cables :) :) :)

Thanks Andy! I've been lurking and reading the odd thread here and there, but now it's time to double that post count with some deep, insightful and meaningful posts. Or at the very least some posts.

Yes, we filmed two of the songs with intentions to put up youtube videos similar to the ones of my old band, and I also did some quick little ditties showcasing the rides. Everything is being compiled now and will probably be up in a day or so. Thanks for your interest!

Also I fixed the pic for you. No more messy cables.

Honestly, all the new gear may have had something to do with it. ;)

Looks awesome! I like how you put the stereo pair behind the kit. I've goofed around with that a bit, and I think it helps capture the sound that the drummer hears better.

Hahaha, nice, I was joking about the cables :) I'm looking forward very much to your videos, as I really like your work :)

So, just some teasers of the sound we were getting in the room.

I'll post actual songs/drum cam vids once the songs have been completed.

I did a demo with each ride too. Hope you enjoy!

-Jonathan

p.s. I can't tell if my floor tom is clipping in these or if it's just my headphones...
