Default Beginner set

Hi there

I am looking at getting some e-drums for my church. We don't need anything flash, or fancy so I was looking at the Yamaha DTX500.

Is this the best option for around this price range?
Thanks
Steve

In the price range, yes. But I really would encourage you to spend more. You may get drummers of all ages and experience playingon your communal church drums. Some will take one look at the kit and decide to bring their own. We have 6 drummers in our church that come and go. There's a whole range of capability and opinions. We have an acoustic kit and suffer all the usual problems associated with LOUD drums. Nevertheless, for 600 ($1000) you can get a long-lasting acoustic kit that sounds really good. The minimum ekit I would go for (in Roland speak) is TD15K for a church.

Peace
Davo
