Default Seinfeld & The Buddy Rich Tapes

I ran across this and thought some of you might enjoy it. I never looked at the tapes in a comedic way but after Seinfeld gives his point of view it seems pretty funny.

I love that line "you wanna go outside AND THEN YOU"LL SEE WHAT IT"S LIKE".

I was talking about this YESTERDAY (not on DW), crazy coincidence.

I'm a Seinfeld fan and quite enjoy the fact that he and Larry David pulled out Buddy quotes.

My favourite as well is the last one, "This guy...". Just the intonation and pause to me is absolutely perfect.

Interesting. I actually had NOT heard this before.

Kind of funny how far reaching Buddy's influence is, even outside of music.

Interesting that he said many comedians are familiar or have copies of these tapes. I thought there was only one. I was veiwing a drummerworld video of Buddy, one of many, and I could not beleive just how young these guys looked, I mean real young and definatly super talented. I can't help thinking that these musicians would not have been harrasesd by older Buddy.
I certainly hope not.

I am a huge Seinfeld fan and I never knew this. I've heard those tapes but I never put the 2 together. Priceless.

i've had the tapes since the early 90's. my drummer passed it on to me and i in turn passed it on to others. someone had put calliope music in between the segments, which was a drag and a distraction. with the advent of the interwebs it is nice to hear the un-augmented tapes.

odd that i never noticed the inclusion of those lines in the show especially considering "That guy is not my kind of guy" is one of my favorite lines and one that i use often. although i paraphrase as "That guy is not my kind of people".
