R.I.P. Munetaka Higuchi

A sorry loss for the family and drummers world. He was often mentioned not only as one of the leading Japanese drummers but a rock/metal artist overall.

Higuchi was an endorser of Pearl Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Remo drumheads and Vic Firth drumsticks.

He made very good albums with Loudness: The Law of the Devil's land, Disillusion, Thunder in the East and many more...

May He Rest In Peace.

this is very sad indeed. Maybe in death he'll get the recognition he deserved, at least here in the U.S. He never seems to be in the discussion when rock drummers are talked about, much like Stefan Kaufmann of Accept. I've been a longtime Loudness fan and thought Munetaka was very solid and I always enjoyed his playing. There are lesser drummers who get talked about more than Munetaka. I was fortunate enough to catch Loudness when they played at BB King's in New York some time ago. What a band.
