Default Making Sound Cones/Sound Projectors Out Of Old Snare Heads...

I am currently working w/ a local drum line. The music program at the school isn't exactly funded very well. I wanted to get the snare line sound cones/sound projectors to help focus their sound up into the stands. I heard of a way to make sound cones/sound projectors out of old marching snare heads. Has anyone every heard about this....can anyone point me to some information on how to do this...

Sounds interesting. I would remove the hoop, then slice a wedge out of the head and glue the edges together and clamp them. Pretty simple.
