Best way to keep cymbal stands from tipping over

I have a cymbal stand that mounts two Pearl toms, a 10 and 12", and I have a cymbal bag with some of my cymbals in it on the legs to keep it from falling over. However, I want to mount those cymbals here pretty soon so I'm going to need to find something else to hold it down. Extending out the legs will only work so far, as I am limited to a corner. Any good weights or techniques you use to keep your cymbal stand/tom holder up?

You need to have one leg right under the pair of toms to support the weight. Shouldn't need any weights or anything else.

Make sure the legs are open as fear as possible and have a leg under the two toms as Soupy suggests. Also make sure the stand is designed for that much weight.

And if you have no other choice, use a sand bag to add more weight to the base.

I had a 14 and 16 tom , 18" crash ride and a 12" splash all mounted on a Dixon double braced stand for many years with no problems.

Correct on that, balance is important in this case.
