I have a 14" x 5.5" Jeff Ocheltree "Heavy Metals" Carbon Steel snare. It has tube lugs, and I just noticed that on one of my lugs, the tube turns as I tighten the tension rod, thereby turning the tension rod on the other head. The only way to prevent it from turning is by holding onto the tube.
This is the first time that I've ever experienced something like this, so I don't know what to do. First, I don't know how to contact Jeff to get a replacement lug, and 2nd I don't know where to get a replacement lug that matches the ones on this snare. 3rd, I don't know if this can be fixed, but of course I would love to fix it if possible.
Of course, I can just memorize which tube it is and always remember to hold the tube when I want to turn one of the tension rods on that lug, but damn.... I paid about $400 for this snare on sale. lol
