Thoughts.

Hey been drumming for a bit now on a CB drum kit and it isn't very good and sounds terrible, looking to upgrade to a new kit (not cymbals) just wondering what people would suggest as a good buy? Looking in the region of 400-600 pounds. Cheers!

That price range will buy you a set of pretty nice used intermediate drums. Look for any of the big names in that price range; Ludwig, Gretsch, Tama, Pearl, and so on.

Any of these will be lightyears ahead of your CB's.

A Yamaha Stage Custom will be your best bet in that price range.
