Your Favorite Youtube Drummer

Re: Favorite YouTube drummer/video

Gavin Harrison - 19 days
This video has changed my view on percussion in a band setting.
The most musical playing I have ever heard.

And of course....WOW - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHDjGtj18X0

truth about gavin harrison. I feel the exact same way about that song...I got to see him play it (along with halo!!!! and others) live at the modern drummer festival at SUNY Purchase. He's just godly.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Mine would have to be Martin Periard I think that he is amazing. He does tons of rush covers and other covers. I love how he plays all of these difficult songs (imo) so effortlessly on a small kit. I also like wathcing him because the sound quality is excelent. He has two profiles one is versatile 2007 and the other is versatile 7002. Here is one of his videos.

Hmm, never realized, looks like he's from Calgary....wonder why I haven't heard of him?

For all the Weckl Fans...

Back in the mid 90's ('94, I think), actor Charles Grodin took over a talk show that was on one of the cable news channels (MSNBC, maybe?).
He ended up hosting it for a number of years and it was quite popular.
In one of the early episodes, Grodin invited Jose Feliciano onto the show and, mixed in with the interview, Jose played some of his more well-known songs.
I remember one segement started off with "Affirmation" and right in the middle of it, he pulled one of slickest segues I've ever seen....right into "Light My Fire".
The whole piece lasted about 5-10 mintues and it was a truely memorable performance.
The drummer playing with Feliciano that night was Dave Weckl.
Some of the slickest, funkiest, "groovin-est" drumming I've ever seen...and all on this tiny little bop kit he brought.

If any of you can find a copy of that show, or even just the "Affirmation / Light My Fire" performance, watch it.
Truly some classic TV goin' on that night that I won't soon forget and featuring Dave Weckl at, probably, his best ever.

I second Krimh Kerim, love his band.
Also would like to mention Spikey Drummer he has done a lot of useful lessons and has been a great tool for many drummers.

I'm sorry but this guy is just amazing....

I mean... WOWWWW
Practice double stroking all over the kit and you'll sound just like that.
I did like the funky back beat section. Nice tight groove there, but I'm so tired of people taking small piccolo snare drums and cranking the piss out of them.
You might as well just put a tamborine in that spot...and snip off half of the little "jingles".

FWIW, my friend Jerome just got a Craviotto kit, too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUrAURuMIt0
Those drums do sound great, don't they?...and Jerome's not bad himself! =)
