hahahaha...hilarious

I would be extremely pissed if I hired that band to play my event and this cat is standing up and twirling his sticks while playing awfully like that, upstaging the vocalist, and completely ignoring the time keeping factor

he has to be the band leader because that guy would not work at all if he wasn't

Did anyone spot the crazy high crash cymbal to his left?

Biggest drumming sin in this video -------------------- no reso heads on the toms, lol :)

Wow. Did anyone read the description on YouTube? This guy is the feature of a friggin' MOVIE that's being loved at film festivals. Where do I sign up for that?

And he's doing it with single-headed toms!

The YouTube liner notes state the film maker wants to demonstrate this man's passion for drumming. I can see this information getting into the minds of the impressionable young spawning an entire generation of drummers doing, well, you know ;)

Anything to sell more drums and stuff, I guess.

Kinda looks like a fake set up to me, but I did see there was a movie called A DRUMMER'S PASSION. Not sure what to make of it.

His playing has gone backwards. In the first "Korean drummers teals the show" he still played properly while doing his ham act, and that's what was cool about it (to me, anyway). Seems like he's beefed up the stage act but let his playing go to the dogs ... maybe that's where the $$ are?

Oh well, he's getting his 15 minutes. It won't be a minute longer unless he can work out how to play drums properly while clowning around. Anyone can goose around and play crap drums - but someone like Steve Moore can play for real while doing his funny moves. Kwon Soon Keu has the talent to do that too if he remembers that the bottom line is he's a drummer.

This guy's much better at pulling off the same "inappropriate" show :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yvHWyvexZA

I think the key to his crazy playing is the reso heads. He has his spasm attacks behind the kit when they are off, and he kept his cool in that vid when there were on.

Guys, just remember, the dude is 72. When you're 72 with a full head of white hair, let's see you try and pull off the same thing without everyone on the interwebs commenting on your lack of groove!

Plenty of drummers continue to play good time into their 80s. Given that "interweb commentators" are what gave Kwon his break and now he's had a movie made about him, I think it's okay to point out that his playing was sloppy. People say it about Lars too.

Wonder how Sinatra would of taken to this being done while he was singing the song in front of 50000 people.

I often wonder when I see things like this that if it weren't for the internet and accessibility of YouTube, etc.. if this kind of thing would really ever happen.

gosh, what a clown. Too bad someone made a documentary about him - that might encourage others. Isn't there something more significant to do a documentary about? The plight of seeing eye dogs that have gone blind? Proper ways to wax the refrigerator?

dmacc: Sinatra would've had him killed when he was out for a smoke in the alley.

This guy is like the William Hung of drums.

The non expression on the bass players face reveals what it feels like being next to this guy. It seemed like he was very much "tolerating" him.

Maybe the documentary should have been: (Passion - Talent)/Not Playing For the Music = This Guy
