Default Steve Jordan's weird bass drum

Hey guys, I saw this clip on Youtube, and to me it looks like Steve's bass drum diameter is either 1.) larger on the beater side, then smaller on the resonance side, making the bass drum into a cone-shaped kind of thing, or 2.) he has it bent towards the floor. Help me figure it out?

Never seen him use that.
If you want the same sound qualities you should check out the daxdad, too. Discontinued, though...

I thought that was just a 16" floor tom... It doesn't look those Trixon drums to me..

Looks like one to me........the Trixon logo on the bass drum head was a bit of a give away too. ;-)

I've not seen him play that one before either.

I know it's not the same kit, but for what it's worth, here is another Trixon owned by SJ...

For that gig, where you only play one tune, what more do you need?

...it's also a better use of 4 mics than throwing them around a bunch of toms and neglecting the pies. That ride and those hats sounded silky through those mics!
