Default DW Kitbuilder sound samples

Folks,

Don't know how many of you have listened to the sound samples here but based on them I am surprised to find I prefer the birch sound samples over and above all the maple derivatives. The Birch sounds clearer with a quicker decay and less overtones. I've never been able to compare a birch and maple kit before - so is this a realistic finding on my part?

Cheers
Davo

I have never played a birch kit, but your description sounds a lot like what I've read about the differences between the two woods before.

Yeah it is close enough. Birch has a almost immediate decay and lots of punch.
