Would the back-up band open for the "not a bad band"?

Hey Ozzy Biz. the back-up band would be:

Vocals - Steve Perry/Scott Stapp
Guitars - Joe Satriani/Yngwie Malmsteen
Bass - Victor Wooten
Keyboards - Richard Wright
Drums - Bonzo/The Professor

Can I have 2 vocalists and 2 drummers? Ok with 2 guitarists though, huh? Play On! ;-)

Mine would have to be:

Lead guitar 1: Joe Satriani
Lead guitar 2: Jimi Hendrix
Rhythm Guitar: Carlos Santana
Bass 1: Flea (RHCP)
Bass 2: Stanley Jordan
Vocals: Kelly Jones (Stereophonics)
Piano: John Legend
Drums: Me / Dave Weckl / Gavin Harrison
Lyric writing: Chris Martin (Coldplay)

Yea, that would do just fine for me.

Drum: Bill Bruford
Bass: Tony Levin (the master of low frequency handling)
Guitar: Robert Fripp
Keys: Keith Emerson

AKA Pretty much King Crimson in one incarnation or another. I wouldn't want any of the ELP lot on anything except bass mind...

My Ultimate Band:

Drums: Me
Bass: David Ellefson
Lead Guitar: Kirk Hammett
Rhythm Guitar and Vocals: Max Cavalera

I would love to see what would come of this!!!

Wasn't this a thread before the Off Topic wipeout?

Anyways,
Jimi Hendrix-Lead Guitar/ Rythym Guitar [Just as good at rythym as lead]
John Entwistle-Bass
Robert Plant-Vocals [Now there's a shocker]
Acoustic Guitar/ Vocals [sometimes] -Dave Matthews
Steel Lap Guitar- David Gilmour [Porbably wouldn't work but would sound cool]
Percussion- Trilok Gurtu
Drums- Bonzo

The main problem with this group would be the chemistry between the artists. But since this is the "Ultimate Band", I guess I could say that.

I tried to get one line-up, but I couldn't. I think I would like to put all these guy in different combinations to see who comes up with what, then i'll make my final decision. These guys would be in rotation:

Drums:Vinnie Colaiuta/Dennis Chambers/Tony Willaims
Bass: Victor Wooten/Stanley Clarke/Larry Graham (and Background Vocals)
Guitar: Al Di Meola/John Schofield
Keys: Chick Corea
Vocals: Prince (also guitar)
Trumpet: Miles
Sax: Coltrane
Percussion: Airto

I would love to hear any combination of the above.

Imagine Chambers, Graham, Schofield, Prince. My god this would be great!!!!!!

Hey Rossy_j! Cool list here, man. I like it! But...doesn't Stanley Jordan play guitar? I was not aware that he played bass, also. I have 3 cds of his from the late 80's in which he plays the guitar like a piano, but he doesn't play bass. Just curious...Play On! ;-)

Maybe you meant to type Stanley Clarke??

Vocals - Milli Vanilli & Ashlee Simpson
Bass - Sid Vicious
Drums - Meg White
Guitar - Tom Fletcher (From Mcfly)

Now thats what I call A band

Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Trumpet: Miles Davis

Bass: Jack Bruce
Drums: Tony Williams

Actually Jimi had made a jam session with Tony Williams and Jack Bruce at Record Plant in 1969 (tape not found so far), and also supposed to play with Miles and Gil Evans just a few days after his death.

vocals:angela gossow(arch enemy)
guitar:karl sanders(nile)

Hey! New to the board and trying it out with a first reply...

Drums: Bill Stewart
Mandolin: Chris Thile
Guitar: John Scofield
Bass: Christian McBride
Keys: Michel Camillo (spp?)
Percussion: Mamaday Keita
